About Me

In any really good subject, one has only to probe deep enough to come to tears.

I recently (and super-excitedly) accepted a position as the executive assistant to the publisher and deputy publisher of Little, Brown for Young Readers. The views expressed on this blog and anything associated with HYAFW are solely my own, and have not been reviewed or approved by my employer.

I’m just a writer, working on too many unfinished projects, living in New York City, trying to find more time to write and more space for my thoughts on writing.  I am not a critic or a reviewer. I am not a professional.  I am simply trying to learn how to write.

I’ve been reading and rereading YA almost exclusively for the past 2 years. I’ve focused mostly on science fiction, survivalist and dystopia. I consider my reading habits a type of “study” to become as well-versed on a genre (or author) as possible. Ultimately, this blog is a location for my thoughts, ideas and critical responses to what I’m reading.

The hard knocks: I have my Master of Fine Arts from Goddard College, where I studied long form fiction. I received my Bachelor Degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in theater and literature from Eugene Lang College of the New School University. Prior to that, I attended Bard College at Simon’s Rock.
